The design of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is credited to the Sompura family of Ahmedabad, who have a rich legacy of temple design spanning over 15 generations. Among them, the lead architect for the project was Chandrakant Sompura, assisted by his sons Nikhil Sompura and Ashish Sompura, both architects themselves.


It's important to note that the current design underwent some modifications in 2020 to better align with traditional Hindu architectural principles outlined in the Vastu Shastra and Shilpa Shastras. These ancient texts guide temple design with considerations for harmony, proportions, and alignment with cosmic forces.


Therefore, while the Sompura family brought their ancestral expertise and artistic vision to the Ram Mandir, the final design reflects a conscious effort to honor traditional wisdom and cultural significance.
